Nate Yoder shares a view of Sarasota from a roofer’s perspective; its hot work but he keeps our homes dry.
Q: What inspired you or led you to your current career?
A: I had an Uncle in roofing and before finishing high school during summers I would work with his construction crews. It’s grown into my own business now.
Q: What is your favorite restaurant in Sarasota County, and what do you love there?
A: We call it the Poke Sto located at Tatum and Fruitville, serves great barbecue. My wife and I go there for a barbecue platter.
Q: How long have you lived or worked in Sarasota County?
A: 2009.
Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in Sarasota County? Who would you like to see nominated as a Face of Sarasota County?
A: There is this woman on Long Boat Key, I get a kick out of her candor as she shares without pushing her opinions with a keen humor. I enjoy that in a person.
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be? And why?
A: Jamaica, my wife has wanted to go there ever since we got married.
Q: What is your favorite movie OR what is the first movie you remember seeing in a theatre?
A: Titanic, I was on a youth trip with my Dad.
Q: What advice would you give a crowd of people?
A: Don’t take yourself to seriously, that leads to so many problems if you do.
Q: What is something on your bucket list?
A: Hiking as much of the Appalachian Trail as I can.
Q: What is your favorite music/ 3 bands you would like to see (dead or alive)?
Beatles, just because anyone you talk to that has been to a concert raved about the experience.
Q: What current / former local business makes you the most nostalgic about Sarasota County?
A: Anna Marie Oyster Bar.
Q: Choosing anyone alive and a non-relative: with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? Where in Sarasota County would you have lunch?
A: Neal my high school basketball coach from where I grew up. Hang out a the Anna Maria Oyster Bar.
Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about Sarasota County?
A: Legacy and the trails similar to that, just the amount of nature you can do in Sarasota County. We spend a lot of family and I spend at Myakka State Park
Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 or 10 years?
A: Managing the company rather than working out in the field as I have a developed quality trained crew.
Q: What is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
A: Hiking and biking
Q: What 3 words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?
A: Home cooking, making it from scratch, family camping adventures.

Q: If you were cast into a major motion picture and had your choice of anyone to be your co-star, who would you choose?
A: An action film with Jason Statham.
