Let’s visit with Bobbie Smith. Bobbie was recently nominated by the Venice Chamber of Commerce for employee of the year. Bobbie is a full time counselor in support of our local youth, the mission is to empower men, women and youth with life affirming options.

“I’ve lived and worked here for 26 years. Something interesting about me is that I love nerdy things. I love a good spreadsheet. I have a great appreciation for a well-executed form. If I could travel anywhere in the world right now, I would love to go on a cruise on the Mediterranean. I would love to visit all the  communities that touch that sea. Oh… and you only unpack once, that is the ease and efficiency of it!”

Q: what inspired you or led you to your current career?
A: God it was a call I found out about this organization called Pregnancy Solutions and I just felt compelled to be part of it to help our local youth.

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in Sarasota county? Who would you like to see nominated as a Face of Sarasota County?
A: Julie Brady, she is a force for good in the community. She is intelligent, well spoken advocate for our community.

Q: What is your favorite restaurant in Sarasota, and what do you love there?
A: Tikka- Indian restaurant in Venice, I love the butter chicken!

Q: What is your favorite movie?
A: The Proposal with Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds.

Q: What advice would you give a crowd of people?
A: Stay present. Take advantage of the opportunity right in front of you.

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
A: I want to go to Manhattan for at least six months and get to know the neat things there. There is such diversity there.

Q: What 3 word or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?
A: Love, family, and peace.
